Dyslexia
Children and adults with dyslexia have difficulty in acquiring some or all of the skills of reading, spelling and writing at the same rate as their peers. In terms of schooling, these difficulties often impact on confidence for classroom-based tasks.
There has been a wide variety of suggestions and hypotheses as to the causes of dyslexia but recent research suggests that those who have a dyslexic difficulty often experience problems with activities involving working memory, phonological skills (an awareness of the sounds in words) and processing information at speed.
